Maintenance Method of Condenser in Water Chiller Units
The condensers used in small water chiller units are divided into air-cooled condenser and water-cooled condenser.
Air-cooled condenser is mainly used in air-cooled water chillers. It uses air as cooling medium. Because there are often dust or other sundries in the air, some of these dust or sundries will fall on the outside surface of the condenser fins. Over the years, the cooling effect of the condenser will become worse, especially in the bad environment. Therefore, we should clean regularly.
The cleaning method of air-cooled water cooler condenser is: pure dust can be washed clean by compressed air or vacuum cleaner. If there are more dirt on the condenser, gasoline or non-corrosive detergent can be used to clean the heat sink and fins to improve the heat dissipation effect.
Water-cooled condenser is mainly used for water-cooled water chillers. For this kind of condenser, the main problem is to remove scale. Its cleaning cycle is generally based on water quality. If the water quality is poor, it should be cleaned at least once a year. If the water quality is good, such as pure water, it can be cleaned once every 2 to 3 years.
Perhaps some of the chillers use cased water condensers, which can be pickled.
The operation method is: unload the condenser, release the accumulated water inside, and then inject 10% dilute sulfuric acid solution into the condenser tube until the outlet has a solution to flow out. The dilute sulfuric acid can be released after 20 to 30 minutes in the condenser. This action is repeated two or three times.Finally, install the connecting pipe between the cooling water pipe and the condenser, open the cooling water valve and wash for 10 to 20 minutes, and the anti-scaling and cleaning work will be finished.
